Bring your own lunch and join other professionals who provide services for individuals with disabilities for an opportunity to network and learn more about the programs and services available for individuals with disabilities in Greenville County

  • Space is limited so please register online in advance.  If you are on our mailing list, you will receive a monthly eblast with a online registration link.  If you are not on our email list, please Click Here and fill out the form.

  • Target Audience: This event is designed for professionals who provide services for individuals with disabilities but is open to all on a first come – first served basis.
  • Parking: CDS guests may park in the AGFA lot next door, then walk down the alley between St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the NCAA building. Click Here for a Map.

January 14 & 15:  ADA Title II Standards Training & ADA Recreation Standards

ada25-logo-horiz-white-150Greenville CAN presents a two day ADA training focused on Title II (Government) ADA Standards and ADA Recreation Standards.  CEU Certificates and AIA Credits Available.

Presenters:  Robin James, Director of the Great Lakes ADA Center & Sandy Hanebrink, Executive Director of Touch the Future

DAY 1:  Provides an overview of ADA Title 11 requirements and standards.

  • Compare ADA standards with State Building Codes and Regulations
  • Review of regulations enforced by the Department of Justice & Department of Transportation
  • Review of ADA changes since March 15, 2011
  • Common errors and omissions on construction projects
  • Best practices for new construction and existing facilities.

Time:  9am – 4:30pm  (Lunch on your own)
Location:  Greenville County Square, Suite 400
Cost:  $50
Target Audience:  ADA Coordinators, Recreation Officials, Building & Codes Officials, Transportation Officials, Planning Officials, Roads & Bridges Officials, Legal Counsel, Design / Architecture / Engineering Contractors & Firms, Area Organizations with Related Interest.

DAY 2:  Focuses on the ADA Recreation Standards and Guidelines for recreation currently available in our area as well as the following:

  • Amusement Rides (Including Miniature Trains, etc.)
  • Recreational Boating Facilities
  • Exercise Machines and Equipment
  • Fishing Piers and Platforms
  • Golf Facilities
  • Miniature Golf Facilities
  • Play Areas and Playgrounds
  • Wading Pools and Spas
  • Shooting Facilities With Firing Positions
  • Outdoor Developed Areas
  • And More…
