HALTER provides equine-assisted services to children with challenges because we see that relationships and experiences with horses benefit people. HALTER’s certified therapeutic horsemanship instructors, and equine specialists in mental health and learning, credentialed by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International, has provided equine-assisted services to children with challenges since 1987.

Well-trained, dedicated volunteers and extraordinary horses round out the team. Verbal or nonverbal, walking with canes, arriving in wheelchairs, with visual or hearing impairments, experiencing emotional or cognitive difficulties with names like Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Developmental Delay, Attention-Deficit Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress, and rare genetic conditions, HALTER provides services when possible. HALTER provides Therapeutic and Adaptive Riding, Hippotherapy, Equine assisted learning and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy.
