Waymaker Offroad Wheelchairs is a South Carolina based non-profit. They loan out trackchair wheelchairs to individuals with mobility impairments to be able to get back outside and into nature. Waymaker Offroad Wheelchairs also partners with several of South Carolina’s state parks to provide individuals with mobility impairments the ability to have immediate access to one of our chairs to be able to visit and explore our beautiful state parks and beaches!
Currently through Waymaker Offroad Wheelchairs there are trackchairs available for use at the following South Carolina State and County Parks:
- Edisto Beach State Park
- Folly Beach County Park
- Givhans Ferry State Park
- Hampton Plantation State Historic Site
- Hunting Island State Park
- Huntington Beach State Park
- Oconee State Park
- Sadler’s Creek State Park
To rent a chair directly from Waymaker Offroad Wheelchairs, you need to fill out an online form on their website along with watching a short training video that teaches users how to responsibly use the trackchair wheelchair. Trackchairs can either be picked up by the renter, or Waymaker Offroad Wheelchairs can drop it off directly (within a certain distance). To rent a trackchair located at a State or County Park, please fill out the a rental form on the Waymaker Offroad Wheelchair website. Make sure to show the Park Rangers the confirmation email you will be sent to verify that you are the person who rented the trackchair.
