Camp Lions Den is for children ages 6-12 who have visual impairments. Participants must be able to walk, dress, and feed themselves, take care of personal hygiene, and participate in outdoor activities. Forty campers will be selected on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The Activities

Camp Lions Den offers an exciting setting where campers enjoy fun, challenging, and educational group activities. These may include but are not limited to:

  • Swimming
  • Canoeing
  • Fishing
  • Drama
  • Archery
  • Crafts
  • Pontoon boat rides
  • Nature activities
  • Overnight campouts and more!

Campers develop independence through daily camp activities as they learn to do things for themselves. Cabin groups are determined by age, providing campers with opportunities to adjust socially with peers.

The Place

Housing is provided in comfortable cabins with 10 single beds for campers and supervising staff. Showers and bathrooms are located within each cabin for safety and convenience. In addition to meals prepared by their staff, campers enjoy campout food and nutritious snacks. A health center is located onsite and managed by full-time medical personnel. They will notify you at once by phone if your child must stay in our health center overnight or has an accident.

The Application

SC Lions Clubs support Camp Lions Den as a state project. There is NO FEE for attendance. Parents are responsible for the cost of the required medical exam and transportation to and from camp.
